I’ve recorded a five part video series which walks you through the entire process of building an eBay Niche Store using the phpBay Pro plugin.
Part 1 of 5 starts right at the beginning. All I have is a registered domain for my new niche store: ShopArcherySupplies.com.
The first step is to setup my domain account. I use a re-seller account for my niche stores. A reseller account allows you to setup a stand-alone account for each domain vs. adding sub-domains under one main or master domain.
Each domain is assigned it’s own hosting package with cPanel accounts and all the other goodies. But the best feature is that since each domain is setup under their own account, they each have their own disk space and bandwidth allocated per domain vs. all domains sharing the same resources. That way you don’t one domain affecting the others because it got a flood of traffic for whatever reason.
I recommend using a re-seller account with Host Gator. Currently a re-seller account costs $24.95 per month for the Aluminum account. If that is out of your budget starting out, do not let that stop you from building your niche stores.
Just grab Host Gator’s Baby croc account which is only $7.95 per month. You can host unlimited domains as sub-domains under that account. Once you’re making money grab a re-seller account. But if money is tight start with the baby croc account.
Since I use a re-seller account (and no I do not re-sell hosting, I use the re-seller account for my affiliate websites) that is what is shown in this video.
Video #1 walks you through the process of setting up your domain using cPanel’s WHM (Web Hosting Manager) interface. WHM makes it very easy to setup account. (Side note check out my video review of Domain-Dashboard which makes setting up multiple domains a complete breeze).
